The client from Kuala Lumpur, preparing to gift a house for his parent's 25th wedding anniversary with a leisure, peace and relax environment, in a wide open space, relaxing and multifunctional houses by collaborating with quite a minimalist concept. They plan to use this house for their holiday trip home stay purpose. the function they requested included meditation area, plant, easy to maintain and a space to enjoy their tea art.

Modern Zen refers to meditation and it reflects balance, harmony and relaxation. The interior aim is to create a sanctuary, a relaxing and peaceful place of respite from the rush and emotional demands with using earthy, natural and soft colour palette including furniture and decoration item to achieve balance in the interior, especially at Penang. In addition, placement of plants helps to create a simplicity and calming effect at the same time it blends with the nature.

Colour
Natural colour such as white, grey, beige and light pink as the dominant colour scheme for the interior it mainly to bring people relax and breath. Zen should be focus to the continuity of the visual, wall, furniture/ decoration item and the shade between each other to tolerate with natural effects.

Flooring
Using stone or wood to maintain the natural theme of Zen. For area rugs, choose woven reed mats or sisal rugs. Light, grey or white parquet flooring will be the perfect choices to match with Zen interior.

To be emphasis on clear and simple line without adding any ornamentation detail. Secondly it should be made of natural materials to bring a sense of calm and warmth to the interior.
